I've been a psychotherapist since 2011. Before that, for twenty-five years, I was a hospital Chaplain working with grief, trauma and loss. Along the way, I've completed a Masters of Divinity degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, and a two year internship in marriage and family therapy. I've raised two daughters with my partner, Karen, and with Karen and a group of friends and fellow therapists I co-founded The Space Within in Stratford. My most important teachers have been my own relationships and personal work, and the clients who've trusted me to work with them.
I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Certified Member of the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC). What that means for you is that my training and experience meets their standards of practice; I'm accountable to them for my work; and I regularly undergo reviews of my professional practice. It also means that if ever you have a complaint about my practice, you can contact CASC or the CRPO with your concerns. The name and contact information for the Regional Ethics Chair of CASC can be found here. The contact information for making a complaint to the CRPO can be found at the College's website here.
